Up to 122 hp and 300 Nm power increase for the new
Mercedes V8 twin turbo gasoline engines:
MKB P 530 and MKB P 640.
640 hp and 1.000 Nm for the new AMG 63er generation, all AMG V8 twin turbo engines.
530 hp and 800 Nm for the new Mercedes 500 engines in all chassis types.
MKB adapted well to the fundamental changes in the Mercedes engine technology: during the era of normal
aspirated engines MKB offered leading edge big displacement tuning. Later the supercharged engines got the
MKB performance increase with tuned boost pressure, high flow exhaust systems and ECU management.
Then the high rev AMG engines showed its full potential with MKB ECU technology and tuned mechanic
parts. And today MKB relies on its outstanding electronic tuning technology to lead the pack. MKB brings
640 hp, 1.000 Nm and a top speed of over 340 km/h for all AMG twin turbo V8 engines to the starting line.
AMG engines will achieve 640 hp and 1.000 Nm with MKB electronic tuning.
Converting the new AMG engines MKB uses a careful adjustment of the ECU management. The engine’s
hardware is totally sufficient and no changes are needed at first hand. The MKB power performance
software makes all new AMG 63 models show its full potential: the street performance of the CLS 63 AMG
for example is quite catchy: 0-100 km/h: 4.1 s, Vmax 300 km/h with electronic limiter, on demand delimited
and with special tires quicker than 340 km/h.
Mercedes engines reach 530 hp and 800 Nm with MKB electronic tuning.
Even here MKB focussed only on electronic adjustments: For example the MKB P 530 in the Mercedes CLS
500 sprints now in AMG`s own territory. 4.4 s from 0 to 100 km/h and the pushing forward stops at
300 km/h. Stopped only by the electronic limiter of course.
Being MKB and being a German technology tuner MKB omits any optical gimmicks. Only the aluminium wheel
MKB Alpha III and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport - the customer can choose comfortable 19” or sporty 20” -
round off the power performance package and deliver a perfect driving balance on any high speed track.
The first view on the new MKB tuning packages shows a small tuning job only. Anyway each car or at least each
ECU unit must be brought to MKB to get its unique and individual conversion.
In the end it is still a quick conversion which gives a huge change in performance. Up 122 hp and 300 Nm power
increase are a new level for a ECU tuning even with a turbo engine. Compared to the long and careful
programming and long dyno runs and the many runs on the Autobahn the result is a quite logic consequence.
The conversion to MKB P 530 and MKB P 640 is already available with a full MKB warranty. In Germany MKB
offers the tuning conversion even with TÜV and emission class Euro 5.
MKB means unrestricted acceleration.
MKB vehicles are developed and constructed using state-of-the-art technologies. Instead of sacrificing potential
to the emotionless cost-savings measures used for mass-produced cars, MKB unleashes that potential and
pushes it to the limit with additional MKB technology. At MKB, the main focus is not on maximizing profits.
It’s on the sheer joy of enjoying the full potential of modern automobiles – together with our passionate
customers. Optimize the complete drive train – the engine, transmission and differential – is the focus of
everything MKB does. Every MKB product comes from a constant, passionate drive to achieve maximum
power, and from the search for the ideal technical solution.

MKB P 670 *668HP/1200Nm* V12 biturbo engine in the Mercedes GL500
top
21.09.2011, MKB Press release MKB P 670 for Mercedes GL 500 / GL 450

668 hp / 491 kW and 1.200 Nm.
The MKB P 670 V12 biturbo engine in the Mercedes GL.

Until today Mercedes does not offer any AMG performance conversion for the GL-class.
If someone looks for bigger driving pleasure with his big luxury SUV he may know the leading Mercedes performance tuning company MKB since long.
Now MKB offers a range of 286 hp up to 668 hp.

Every GL driver and GL fan finds at MKB the most sovereign engines: the MKB RD6 for the 350 CDI reach up to 286 hp, the MKB RD 8 for the 450 CDI achieve 360 hp and even 850 Nm torque. Sporty drivers get with powerful gasoline V8 in the GL 500 the MKB 50/8 and 430 hp and 550 Nm which are really good fun to drive.

Those who will be not satisfied with such power numbers those find with the new MKB P 670 the most exclusive way to show in their Mercedes GL 500 the desired high dynamic sports car performance. The conversion to 668 hp peak performance of the MKB P670 means that the big Mercedes V8 will be swopped to the Mercedes V12 twin turbo which will be tuned by MKB on top.

This transplantation of hearts in the GL 500 is not easy to achieve. Even if the V12 fits the engine bay perfectly well. The outstanding knowledge and creativity of modern tuning companies such as MKB shows not in simply pressing a bigger engine into a chassis which was never thought to be equipped that way it shows clearly in the fact that such a conversion can not be recognized as such by the naked eye. But of course everyone will feel the bigger driving pleasure later on.

Optically the MKB P670 engine fits harmonic into the GL and harmonic and sovereign is its new drive.
The 4-Matic-drivetrain, the automatic gearbox, the electronic control systems, the mighty MKB P 670 altogether work perfectly matched and there is never any fear that the big power increase could create critical driving characteristics. The performance is simply great: it takes 4.4 s from 0 to 100 km/h and the top speed is limited at 270 km/h and here stops the big acceleration push by purpose. MKB too offers only the best and biggest braking solution available: at the front and rear axle work 380 mm ceramic discs and 6 and 4 piston brake callipers for quick and safe deceleration.

Potential customers must show two very distinct properties before any ride in their MKB P670 based upon the Mercedes GL 500. They must be relaxed with both time and money. The conversion takes up to 6 months and MKB asks 217.568.- EURO excluding VAT for it. But only if a Mercedes GL 500 will be brought for the conversion.
MKB P 640 for the Mercedes SLS Power 638 HP / 469 kW Torque 710 Nm +++New MKB image video 2011+++

25.02.2011, MKB press release MKB P 640 for the Mercedes SLS

638 PS / 469 kW for the Mercedes SLS.
Right from the start, with the first tuning stage MKB P 640.

The sporty gullwing of AMG shows both the most powerful normal aspirated V8 engine and its heritage of modern GT race cars. The German tuning company MKB raises the power from 571 to 638 hp for the sportiest drivers. The torque grew from 650 to 710 Nm too.

MKB offers only a software upgrade in the first tuning stage as the engine hardware of the Mercedes SLS is very promising. The super sports car can show its full power potential by using the MKB performance electronic engine management: its performance is a clear statement: 0-100 km/h: 3,7 s,
0-200 km/h: 10,5 s, Vmax: 330 km/h (with speed limiter).

The engine is basically well known at MKB as many AMG-63-owners believe in MKB power since 2007 and enjoy super car performance in their powerful sedans. But now the engine was newly engineered at AMG and thus MKB redesigned its performance electronic engine management completely.

AMG offers in the SLS a nearly perfected mechanical basis and a nearly perfected intake and exhaust system. This is a big achievement in a mass production car. The mechanical parts properties` potential is now revealed to its full extend with the highly engineered MKB software. During the conversion MKB flashes its MKB P 640 software into the ECU of the SLS. Nothing less than this is necessary for a first big power increase.

„If a car manufacturer offers such a high value engine and high value engine periphery parts in a mass production car than you won´t find additional power if you simply change some of these parts and hope for a performance increase. Because of that fact we did concentrate on the engine tuning with given properties first and we found its real potential. The existing technical basis of AMG is supporting the MKB tuning philosophy and development accuracy,” tells MKB CEO Panagiotis Avramidis about the MKB P 640.

MKB waives additional optical tuning gimmicks too. The wheel set MKB Alpha III with the tire Michelin Pilot Super Sport - at the front axle 9,5x20 and 275/35 ZR 20 and at the real axle 11,5x20 and 295/35 ZR 20 – gives the SLS a very good driving balance for every high speed track.
Compared to the small extensiveness of the conversion we think the result is astonishing. + 67 hp and
+ 60 Nm revealed only by a new but perfected electronic engine management for a normal aspirated engine is not a small achievement. But if one knows the development accuracy and the many dyno runs one can expect such a performance. MKB offers the conversion MKB P 640 for sale with German TÜV homologation, emission class Euro 5 and a full MKB warranty.

01.12.2010, MKB Pressrelease: engine MKB P 1000 for AMG SL Black Series

1.015 hp / 746 kW for the AMG SL 65 Black Series:
Vmax: 350 km/h in Papenburg test center Germany .

The acceleration times were already proven with the presentation of the MKB engine.
The proof of any Vmax was not done until then. Recently the bespoke AMG SL 65 Black Series with the engine MKB P 1000 reached 350,5 km/h during the MKB high speed trials at the famous German test centre in Papenburg.

„Our target with our new engine MKB P 1000 isn´t anything new. We aimed to give the AMG SL with its down-force aerodynamic properties the similar Vmax as we do with the Mercedes CL models. Therefore we would need over 800 hp.” claimed MKB CEO Panagiotis Avramdis. And even 800 hp are not enough if you hold the technology key for over 1.000 hp.

During the high speed trials the vmax of 350 km/h was easily reached and proven several times.
The end top speed of 350,5 km/h is realistic under all circumstances. The wide body car´s aerodynamics was untouched, mirrors were in place and all cooling openings were fully opened.

The high end GPS-datalogging data screenshot shows still a tiny bit of longtitudinal acceleration at 350 km/h. With the MKB engine the SL AMG Black Series gets an impressive vmax which is now similar to the other well known MKB tuning stages. Especially the wide body SL developed for club sport racing with its wide fenders, rear wing and big air intakes now steps perfectly into the exclusive MKB high speed club.

“We did not intend to change its club racing capabilities. We simply added a better acceleration and a much higher vmax. And with that we will meet our typical customers demands,” points out Panagiotis Avramidis.

The fact that the MKB P 1000 converts the AMG SL 65 Black Series into one of the seldom very high performance cars made Michelin choose that car to use during the presentation of their new ultra performance tire Michelin Pilot Super Sport. This new tire is developed for the small group of cars whose performance exceeds the capabilities of normal super sports cars by far. During that presentation on the GP track Dubai Autodrome even F1 driver Adrian Sutil got the proof that the MKB tuned AMG supercar easily comes to grips with cars of Koenigsegg, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

„At MKB we are very happy to work closely together with a leading technology partner like Michelin. For new MKB projects in which we surely will reach 4 digit power figures the tire becomes an extremely important part of the package. The work is now divided perfectly well. Michelin offers us and our customers the best high speed tires available. We offer our customers high performance engines which makes them frontrunners in all respects – acceleration and vmax,” explains Mr. Avramidis the cooperation of MKB
and Michelin.

Engine technology in detail: the mighty MKB P 1000.

The engine conversion is outstanding in regards of the of depth of the changes inside and outside the AMG 12-cylinder engines. The MKB Package P 1000 covers the whole drive train and guarantees the necessary sustainability for both onroad high speed driving and club racing use. The 6.0 litre AMG V12 gets in the MKB P 1000 conversion a completely new engine periphery – this means air intakes, turbo charger systems, cooling systems are the visible means. Inside MKB works as consequent too. Apart from MKB camshafts the power ECU has the important job to control the flowing gases in a way that maximum power output, drivability and sustainability will be combined on a high level. The engine pushes significantly forward from 1.500 rpm onwards. Anything like a turbo lag is unknown. The automatic gearbox is converted too to meet the increased engine torque. Additionally MKB offers MBK LSD rear axles with different ratios to reach different end speeds.

MKB offers this conversion as a custom hand built car in the MKB workshop. There is no production number limit for the engine. After the launch with the AMG SL Black Series now all other AMG 65 cars can reach over 1.000 hp at the rear wheels.
